Why is it important?
Understanding the circumstances and injury patterns in pedestrians can help local authorities to formulate effective injury prevention and treatment protocols for injured pedestrians. Pedestrians are also the second leading fatalities amongst all road users in Jamaica, so we need to understand the mechanisms and ting of injuries to assist in education to the public and develop enforcement strategies.
