What is it about?
In biological systems the core of an inorganic active site is embedded by assemblies of biomolecules. In this paper the solid state self-assembling caused by various cations of amino acids under the influence of redox active cerium complex anion are studied.

Why is it important?
Macoromecules embedding electroactive species are important in biological, nano and material sciences. Thus to have understanding at fundamental level the self-assembling of biomolecules embedding electroactive sites is of concern. This study shows such an approach to provide the fundamental understanding on self assembling in solid state.
