Why is it important?

- We examine how minority students experience mainstream schooling by drawing on their own voice. - We describe how the mainstream school had devaluation, invasion, segregation, disunity and integration impact on the students' linguistic, cultural and social identities. - We urge the need to help minority students to construct a positive identity and deal with difficulties in their schooling.
