Why is it important?
This means that children wearing affordable bone conduction headsets could potentially benefit in classroom settings. Children with glue ear who wear the headphones when their glue ear self resolves are not at risk from continued use of the device (for example if children are using the headphones when their hearing has returned to normal , while they wait for a follow up appointment to confirm normal hearing) This may also have future implications for an affordable way of managing children with auditory processing disorders.
