What is it about?
12 female patients with IC/BPS without improvement after several other therapies were treated with non-ablative vaginal erbium laser, 9 of which siginificantly improved. The effect lasted for 18 months from the first treatment without long-term adverse effects.

Why is it important?
This is the first study looking into possibility to treat IC/BPS with non-surgical, minimally invasive vaginal laser treatment and the results were promising, inidcating that non-ablative vaginal erbium laser might become an option for treatment of this indication.
