To evaluate the properties of the FOME in measuring episodic memory function in Chinese elderly with cognitive impairments.

Why is it important?

Dementia is a prevalent and significant neurocognitive disorder and deterioration in memory is a substantial manifestation. Having an assessment tool to evaluate the older adults' episodic memory is useful for better detection and classification of the cognitive status of the older adults to facilitate earlier intervention.

Perspectives

I hope this article can promote the use of the FOME in the Chinese context to evaluate the episodic memory of the older adults other than common screening tools such as the MMSE and Mo-CA.
