What is it about?

This study shows that it is possible to effectively degrade antibiotics from waters. Water sources which are polluted by ticarcillin antibiotic were degraded by the eco-friendly method, subcritical water oxidation method and a green oxidizing agent, hydrogen peroxide. Moreover, comprehensive statistical analysis of the degradation process was done using response surface methodology and artificial neural network.

Why is it important?

Nowadays, it is known that antibiotics-polluted waters present critical danger for human and livings health. Herein, this work offers a green method for degrading antibiotic, thus, decontaminating water sources.

Perspectives

Antibiotic resistance is a serious problem standing ahead and threatens our health. This resistance occurs from antibiotic-polluted waters. Hence, by degrading antibiotics, the water is get purified and the danger is eliminated. Well, this study is about mentioned issue.
