What is it about?
In this study consuming MWNTs fictionalised by COOH as reinforcement in the composition of PCL/gelatin (PCG) to fabricate PCL-gelatin/0.5 wt%MWNTs (PCGC), a polymer-based nanocomposite scaffold, through electrospinning is a new technic to enhance the physical and mechanical properties for tissue engineering applications. The physical and mechanical properties of this newly proposed nanocomposite scaffold are assessed by SEM (scanning electron microscopy), FT-IR (Furrier transform infra-red), water contact angle, tensile strength, TG/DTG and cell culture study.

Why is it important?
According to the results in this study, the PCGC electrospun nanocomposite scaffold had appropriate physical, mechanical properties and cell behaviour to be utilised as a scaffold for supplemental studies of tissue engineering applications.
