What is it about?
In this project, I used factor analytic techniques to develop and validate an inventory-- the Arts Entrepreneurship Profile-- that undergraduate arts students and educators can use to assess entrepreneurial dispositions and propensities. Although certain sections of it produced less-than-ideal reliability, the Arts Entrepreneurship Profile represents an important first step in developing tools specifically tailored for arts entrepreneurship education.

Why is it important?
Two key needs served as motivation for this study: (1) the need for empirically-guided efforts to further define the dimensionality of arts entrepreneurship, and (2) the need for better methods for assessing arts students’ development in those dimensions. When arts educators can assess students’ entrepreneurial mindsets and skillsets effectively, they are better able to diagnose potential liabilities and prescribe solutions that enable more efficacious achievement of learning outcomes.
