What is it about?

Natural rubber latex as an elastomer in asphalt binder, the incorporation of Silane additive has improved its rutting resistant. This work established that the introduction of additive in rubberized asphalt binder readily improved the performance.

Why is it important?

The study considers the macro and micro behavior of rubberized asphalt binder, to fully understand its changes due to the aging effect. This is very imperative in pavement engineering, by bridging the gap between microstructural level and macro level.

Perspectives

It is a great pleasure to contribute useful things to humanity, especially to the aspect that touches peoples lives. Asphalt pavement construction and maintenance attract a lot of resources, therefore the use of biopolymer to reduce the use of oily component will have a un-quantifiable positive impact on the economy.

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors whom has wide knowledge and experience in pavement material research area. Through the usage of renewable source such as Natural Rubber Latex in pavement material is expected to contribute towards the sustainable construction method and improve the performance of pavement. Hope this article could contribute towards the expansion of asphalt industry.
