What is it about?

This paper considers to what extent European New Zealand youth believe the Maori language is endangered and whether they blame that endangerment on the actions of their own colonial forefathers.

New Zealand language revitalisation policy rationale - including that the Maori language is endangered and colonial forefathers are responsible - is benevolent but hidden deep in policy documents.
