What is it about?

The focus of the article is exploring the perspectives of young people who are unaccompanied refugee minors utilising mental health services. In the article we explore their views on the barriers to therapy, and the therapeutic relationship.

It is important not to impose an adult centric view on children and young people, or a British, Western perspective on those from other cultures.

Perspectives

We found interviewing these young people really insightful as they were able to articulate their views and opinions on UK mental health services, practitioners and therapies.
