What is it about?

It is a review of the survey findings and report published in early 2018 by Julie's Bicycle, dedicated to creative industries and arts organisations in the UK, and how they are responding to environmental concerns, particularly climate change. The review summarises some of the main findings of the report, charting the largely positive progress that has been made, and briefly assessing possible reasons for this.

Why is it important?

Environmental issues, and climate change in particular, have become key concerns for the creative and cultural sector. The extent to which businesses and organisations are responding and innovating to meet these challenges is summarised in this review, which forms part of an journal issue dedicated to the issue of culture and the environment.

Perspectives

Although a review rather than a stand-alone article, it hopefully provides a useful summary of an important piece of work and gives valuable insight into current state of environmental policies and actions within the UK creative and cultural sector.
