What is it about?

There has been a lack of measures of attitude toward organ donation with a theoretical base. This study is to develop and validate measures of attitude built on the theory of reasoned action, a fundamental model of the theory of planned behavior.

Why is it important?

Research on organ donation has been lacking measures of attitude with theoretical support. The measures were validated with good psychometric properties for future research on organ donation to adopt.

Perspectives

This pilot study provided insights that attitude toward organ donation could be made up of both a cognitive and affective component. People may generally support organ donation, but when talking about their own situation, their attitude toward organ donation could be ambivalent.
