What is it about?
This study invited Ghanaian students in the UK to tell stories about connectedness to home and the UK, in two focus groups. The researchers identified story types, including stories about food as a way of maintaining community. They sought British equivalents and mourned the loss of community in the way that university life is constructed in the UK. The research was transformational in that it offered one way to connect with each other.
