What is it about?

Faculty performance is the key to success of an academic institution. We tested our hypothesis that goal clarity can improve the faculty performance. We qualitatively analysed the goal clarity and quantitatively measured goal performance based on peer evaluation. We also confirmed that the peer evaluations reflect students' evaluation of teaching wherein faculty members' goals were to be the best teachers.

It is important to explore different methods to improve faculty performance. We found that having goal clarity shows statistically significant improvement in the faculty performance.

Perspectives

I hope that all departmental chairs and deans read the article and confirm that their faculty members have goal clarity. And if the faculty members don't have the clarity, I hope that the chairs and deans work towards developing that. We are designing a framework for developing the clarity and would be happy to share the framework with interested readers.
