The policy shift to Local Enterprise Partnerships under the Coalition government and the establishment process in two regions of England, west midlands and Yorkshire and the demise of regional development and regional Development Agencies established under the previous Labour government in the late 1990's.

Why is it important?

Local Enterprise Partnerships were established under Eric pickles the Minister for Communities and Local Government. Their resources were limited under the austerity programme- one third of the budgets available to the previous RDA's.
