This article discusses the impact that COVID 19 has had on existing nursing shortages. It discusses issues such as stress, need to self isolate, and increased sick leave and turnover.

Why is it important?

Globally there was a shortage of nurses before the pandemic. We need to increase our support for the profession in order to mitigate the further negative impact that the pandemic is having on nurses.

Perspectives

Nurses are important to healthcare in general and we need them to be supported during this difficult time.
