What is it about?
This paper presents the 2015 (arguably the most recent) maps of Ghana using three different supervised classification algorithms. Prior to the publication of these maps, there had not been such locally-made maps published (over the whole country) for over a decade.

Why is it important?
A large part of Ghana forms part of the West African Biodiversity Hotspot where rapid environmental change is believed to be depleting many important (endemic) species. Thus, these maps are critical inputs to models that estimate biodiversity and other ecosystem services, land use change, etc.
