Why is it important?

Because one set of assumptions leads to affirmative hormonal care with all of its promised benefits, risks of harms, and changing sensibilities of patients over time or an intense effort to improve mental health so that whatever the patient ultimately decides to do about gender expression, the person can do it with more mature thinking.

Perspectives

I favor the evaluation followed by psychotherapy but I wrote the article and titled it to begin an international conversation about the topic
