Why is it important?

This study shows that if the government reduces energy subsidies, what will happen on the economy and poverty level of the Malaysian population.

Perspectives

It highlights that government support can help the majority of poor people in the society to live in a good condition. This support increases the livelihood condition of poor people and they can resist against external shocks. However, when the government reduces or cuts these support they will fall into the bad condition and the poverty level of the society will decrease.
