What is it about?
We describe the manual forces and postures workers use when attaching flexible hoses required in truck engine assembly. Using a simulated work platforms with real hoses and attachments in representative locations (including obstacles), we found there is significant risk of developing musculoskeletal disorder with current methods.

Why is it important?
This is the first time actual workers were studied attaching the various sized of pneumatic hoses at typical reach and height locations, including the kind of obstacles found in their workplace.
