What is it about?
Wikipedia entries for basic statistical concepts are poor: they contain very poor graphics, and even basic errors. We find that Wikipedia is a poor choice for learners, even though many learners refer to Wikipedia. In response, we suggest lecturers and teachers be explicit about the shortcomings of Wikipedia with their students.

Why is it important?
When learning, students often search for unfamilair terms, and Wikipedia is often a first point-of-call explicitly or via search engines. However, often Wikipedia articles are poor for basic statistical concepts. Changing habits can be encouraged by explicitly highlighting WIkiupedia's shortcomings.
Perspectives
We have been concerned about students defaulting to Wikipedia and being misled. This articles provides us with some evidence for why this should be discouraged.
