What is it about?

A meta-analysis of 30 studies (19 of these were randomized, 15,385 surgical procedures) which examines the effectiveness of triclosan-coated sutures in the prevention of surgical-site infections (SSIs) and wound dehiscence. Multiple analyses in different categories of surgical procedures were performed. Triclosan-coated sutures were associated with a reduced risk for SSIs.
