What is it about?
This article explores the experiences of young people visiting the museum as part of the Lessons from Auschwitz programme from the UK. It looks at their thoughts during the visit and their interactions with the sites they visit (particularly their emotional reactions to it).

As visitor numbers to such sites and museums increase, this article looks at the lived experiences of young people engaging with the sites.
Perspectives
As a school teacher myself, I hope that this article extends our understanding of young people's views at sites of memory and helps us as teachers to plan and deliver effective educational programmes that consider not just what students *should* learn, but also *how* they learn.
