Why is it important?
This was a hugely important period in the development of modern menswear. A brief moment of huge experimentation and a playful disregard for the norms that had preceded it. That being said the focus on tailoring allows us to see the clear lineage of menswear development, but the fabrics, colours, cut and patterns used by these boutiques hint at the more radical reimagining of what menswear could lookalike and what masculinity could be.
