What is it about?
This article draws on research with care experienced children and young people in Wales. The study included creative and participatory methods of data generation and used film, artwork and music to communicate the findings of the study to a wide audience.

Why is it important?
Reseach can only have impact if it is engaging and accessibled and this project drew on multimodal methods including art, film and music to ensure that key messages from care experienced children and young people were communicated to teachers, practitioners and policy makers.
Perspectives
This project ensured that the findings generated with children and young people had an impact on policy and practice. The Resarch Impcat Case study from this project was recognised with a 4* categorisation in the 2021 Research Excellencence Framework (REF).
