What is it about?

Air pollution control devices have been constructed and analyzed in previous studies. We have shown in the study the synergistic effect of combining the centrifugal separation of a cyclone and the adsorptive capability of activated carbon.

Why is it important?

Our findings present that there is a significant effect of combining cyclone and activated carbon, as compared to using the cyclone alone. On top of this, cyclones are relatively cheap as compared to other air pollution control devices, thus making it a viable solution to existing air pollution problems for commercial and industrial purposes.

Perspectives

It was a very exciting experience doing the study and writing this article. This work was in collaboration with my thesis adviser (Dr. Eugene Caldona), who is an expert in chemical processes and materials engineering.
