What is it about?
Adopting the notion of Bildung, this volume portrays a theoretically unified framework for Cross-and Trans-Curricular (CTC) teaching. Bildung refers to “a process of self-cultivation, of personal and cultural maturation, in which a person continuously forms himself/herself through their interactions with the surrounding world”(p. 20). The book combines theoretical knowledge with practical methods, such as dialogic teaching and movement integration (the employment of physical activity in teaching). It also incorporates transversal competences, including digital and entrepreneurial thinking, and addresses contemporary topics, such as sustainability and citizenship, that necessitate cross-curricular approaches. CTC encompasses educational practices that transcend traditional subject boundaries.
