What is it about?
Herpes simplex viruses can switch between lytic and latent infections, which is a lifelong source of recurrent diseases. We have uncovered, for the first time, a molecular network that controls the expression of a herpesvirus master regulator critical for viral replication or reactivation from latency.

Why is it important?
Our findings provide a framework of virus-host regulatory circuits, which may help in the rational design of antiviral or oncolytic therapeutics.
