What is it about?

GPCRs are crucial environmental sensors positioned within cellular membranes. We show for the first time that the ends of these molecules, which are located inside the cell, can interact directly with the cell membrane in ways that modulate GPCR function and signaling.

This previously unappreciated mode of GPCR regulation deepens our understanding of how these important molecules, which form a large class of therapeutic drug targets, are regulated.

Perspectives

This was an exciting collaboration between the Eliezer and Levitz laboratories that started as a slightly crazy idea and turned into a really beautiful story.
