What is it about?

Its about research regarding groundwater fluctuation in Bangalore city. Bangalore have experienced unprecedented growth and high strain on water resources typical of any fast growing developing country cities. The paper attempt to map the water resources and use statistical modelling techniques to arrive at stress points in the city with respect to Ground Water (Statistical algorithm C5.0 is incorporated in the study). Ten parameters which affects the ground water fluctuation were incorporated in the study. Analysis proved that the significant factors impacting ground water are well density, population density etc.

Why is it important?

The study gives an analytical framework using GIS and statistical methods to compare demand and availability of water resources. Also modelling helps to identify the critical parameters affecting water resources critical for a fast-growing city

Perspectives

This research article is regarding the effective management of the scarce natural resource - water using scientific and analytical methods. Also this helps city planners to identify parameters to keep under control for effective management of ground water in a city environment
