What is it about?
We utilize quantum light, characterized by noise levels squeezed below those of any classical light, to illuminate objects such as electronic circuits and obtain high-sensitivity thermal images. By precisely measuring reflectivity, we can image surface properties that influence reflectivity, such as temperature.

Why is it important?
Imaging hot spots in electronic devices is crucial for identifying heat dissipation and defects, which is essential for developing low-power and efficient devices. The quantum imaging technique developed here offers the opportunity to perform imaging with higher sensitivity, shorter acquisition times, and/or lower power consumption compared to traditional methods.
