What is it about?
We explored the magnetic and optical properties of Cobalt Magnesium Ferrite and its composite with Polybenzoxazine. The magnetic nanoparticles are fabricated using the chemical co-precipitation method. The benzoxazine (BZ) monomer is synthesized by Mannich condensation reaction using aniline, paraformaldehyde, and phenol.

Why is it important?
This exact combination of composite hasn't been worked on before. In most cases, it is found that addition of polymer to the ferrite particles results in less coercivity. However, we find that the coercivity increases, albeit slightly, in our studied combination of composites. Higher retention of the magnetic properties in the composite, especially coercivity (Hc), shows potential for applications that require high magnetic properties in combination with structural flexibility.
