What is it about?
The lifetime of coronaviruses is often characterized and reported experimentally, but experimental results are limited to specific temperatures. We used a physics-based model trained with existing experimental data to determine the lifetime of coronaviruses as a continuous function of temperature.

Why is it important?
This work provides guidelines for dry heat decontamination of coronaviruses, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus responsible for COVID-19. Epidemiologists may also incorporate this work into their modeling of the spread of viruses over different climates and seasons.
