What is it about?
Preparation and characterization of a sample that presents a magnetic order due to interactions in lines, that is, in one dimension. Simple methods of preparation, heat treatment, in free atmosphere. Studied by fundamental techniques such as X-ray and Neutron diffraction, susceptibility and specific heat.

Why is it important?
There are several theoretical studies on low dimensional magnetism. The ANb2O6 system has proved to be an excellent platform to put the theories into practice and Co0.4Ni0.6Nb2O6 is part of this family of compounds.
