What is it about?
Among the methods of the numerical analysis of the physical phenomena of the continuum, the finite difference method (FDM) is the first examined method and has been established as a full numerical calculation system over the regular domain. However, there is a general perception that generality in numerical calculations cannot be expected over complex irregular domains. The proposed calculation system can overcome such difficulties. It is called interpolation finite difference method (IFDM).

Why is it important?
The proposed numerical analysis method may develop into numerical analysis of continuum physical phenomena expressed by second-order PDEs.
