What is it about?
Mn2+ doped ZnS quantum dots (MnZnSQDs) have been synthesized in water medium by using an environment friendly low cost technique. Tunable dual emission in UV and yellow-orange regions is achieved. The optimum doping concentration for achieving efficient photoluminescence (PL) emission is determined to be ~1.10 (at. %). From temperature dependent PL data it has been reported, for the first time, that the non-radiative/radiative recombination rate is temperature dependent in MnZnSQDs.
