What is it about?
a non-lithographic embedded template method for rapid and cost-effective fabrication of a selectively permeable calcium-alginate (Ca-alginate) based microfluidic device with long serpentine delay channel was presented with a possible applications in Tissue Engineering, Bio-medical application, biocatalysis, micro-chemotaxis etc.

Why is it important?
This Non-lithographic method, that means one need not require to go to cleanroom and use expensive state-of-art equipment. The fabrication an be performed in normal lab atmosphere by simply making scaffolds of template using tubes, fibers, capillaries and thin wires coated with low surface energy coating.
