What is it about?

The melting of small clusters of iron atoms is important for producing useful chemicals and advanced materials. Simulations of atomic cluster melting show that small differences in a cluster's internal and surface structure change its melting point by 100s of degrees Kelvin and influence how the core and surface melt.
