What is it about?

We proposed a new cavitation model which can, to some extent, capture the multi-scale structures in the cavitation cloud. Extra turbulence pulsation, vorticity field, and vapor concentration are found correlated with these small scale structures.

Why is it important?

By prior cavitation models, the vapor concentration obtained in the simulation is relatively homogeneous, which is much different from the experiment observations, whereas the new cavitation model proposed in this paper more or less shrink this discrepancy.

Perspectives

The paper might remind people to seek other discontinuous cavitation models. And more cavitation dynamics in more scales can be investigated one day.
