What is it about?

This research uses wind tunnel experiments and CFD simulations to investigate the aerodynamics of high-performance vehicles in cornering conditions. The results showed that downforce and drag were negatively affected by changes to airflow around the vehicle.

Why is it important?

The findings revealed that the vehicle's aerodynamic performance was primarily affected by airflow changes along the underbody and rear wing. The crucial insights into the aerodynamic interactions between the vehicle and its aerodynamic devices could support the development of new active aerodynamic devices in the pursuit to optimize vehicle aerodynamics in dynamic operating conditions.

Perspectives

Working on this publication was a rewarding experience for me. Performing wind tunnel experiments and simulations for this publication was a rewarding experience for me. It was interesting to see how the complex aerodynamic characteristics of high-performance vehicles changed in various cornering conditions.
