What is it about?
The plasma fuel in a tokamak fusion reactor rotates quickly, and this rotation can affect turbulence, stability, and confinement. We have shown for the first time that existing theory can accurately describe how the plasma rotation is evolving. This represents the first step toward predicting plasma rotation for future fusion reactors.
