What is it about?
The article is a continuation of a number of our works aimed on studying the influence of metal hydride activation of hydrogen on the formation of negative ions in Penning cell with the aim of creating a compact, cheap and efficient source of a new type.

Why is it important?
The main interest for H– ion beam is due to the acceptable neutralization efficiency of hydrogen negative ions even at high energy above 100 keV/nucleon followed by an energetic neutral beam production for fusion. It finds also important practical applications in the field of medical radionuclides production, for thin-films and nanostructures growth and dusty plasma investigations [4].
