What is it about?

In this paper we studied the detailed structural evolution of mesoscopic aggregates of an ionic liquid in aqueous solution and the corresponding viscoelastic property of the solution.

Why is it important?

Ionic liquids are ionic compounds that are liquids below 100 degC. Many of them are even liquids at room temperature. They have vast applications from nano particle synthesis to pharmaceutical industry. It is necessary to study the detailed physicochemical properties of ionic liquids to extend their applications by exploring the suitable operating conditions.

Perspectives

I hope this article provides a good knowledge of viscoelastic property of the aqueous solution of ionic liquids and the correspondence structural evolution under shear.
