What is it about?

Nucleation is the key step of synthesising new materials from the mixture of its components. Long lived metastable phases are often observed in the context of nucleation. For simple dimer lattice-gas model with two types of particles, red (stable phase) and green (metastable phase), we have shown that by controlling relative mobility of the particles the metastable phase can be made to nucleate fast compared to the stable phase.
