What is it about?
A new gas detector based on negative corona discharge phenomena. It can be used separately or as a detector in gas chromatography for analysis of compounds containing electronegative elements, such as pesticides or chlorofluorocarbons. It is very sensitive.

Why is it important?
In addition to its excellent performance, its safety adds another advantage relative to radioactive electron capture detectors, such as Ni-63 detector.
