What is it about?
Object oriented (OO) technique from computer science field was adopting in highway construction document to improve document flow management and visualization. We cooperated with Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) to improve how to manage construction specification. 3D models were created and combined into a platform as a 3D highway specification.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that, in highway construction, visualization and flow of highway construction document were much better when applying computer science's object-oriented concept.
Perspectives
Many possibilities of adapting document management technique can be done from computer science and information science fields.
