What is it about?

A new approach of using laser scanner as a nondestructive was used to measure concrete pavement thickness. The feasibility of laser scanner was analyzed on three different sites. The 3D point cloud data was capture and then cleaned by using Leica's Cyclone software and MATLAB. Finally the data was analyzed in statistical approach to determine thickness variability.

Why is it important?

New nondestructive method of pavement thickness measurement by using a laser scanner machine.

Perspectives

It was my first big-data project working with big chunk of point cloud data.
