What is it about?
Human activities account for most of the effects of global warming and climate change. But, our knowledge of how climate change impacts the world around us is still incomplete. We need to improve upon this. Then we can develop the solutions needed for us to adapt to the effects of climate change. Not only that, but we can also attempt to remedy these effects. However, these remedies or solutions must be resilient toward further climate change. Addressing issues around the restoration of environments, this article focuses on the concept of environmental remediation (i.e., restoring the environment after it has been degraded by climate change). The authors of the article discuss the challenges of rebuilding affected areas. They also enumerate resilient frameworks to achieve the same, in the context of the United States. These frameworks can help restore the environment in a way that protects it from the wrath of climate change in the future. The authors also offer tools for making better decisions when adapting a remedial design for a particular site.

Why is it important?
Climate change is a pressing issue today. Restoring the environment is important. Many of the sites that have been hit hard by climate change are still vulnerable. These sites include equatorial and coastal locales. They can be damaged by climate change events even now. These events might range from a slow rise in the sea level to sudden wildfires. Now, while most other aspects are considered while drawing up plans to restore these locales, protection from future climate change is often ignored. Hence, the strategies discussed in this article are important as they hold great promise to reduce the burden of climate change. KEY TAKEAWAY: It is essential to consider future climate change while drawing up plans to restore the environment. Forming resilient and adaptive strategies to combat environmental changes can help us slowly deal with the effects of global warming and climate change. This research relates to the following Sustainable Development Goals: • SDG 13: Climate Action • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities • SDG 15: Life on Land
